A properly working heating system is very important in the Low Country of South Carolina, where the winters can be exceptionally brutal. That's why I decided to replace the heater core and spiff up the realted parts of Timmy's decidedly low-tech heating system. No bells and whistles here, Mister. No climate control thingys - just good ol' levers and switches and flaps and other parts in the dark recesses of the heater box.
The box itself was rusty on the inside, so I applied Rust Encapsulator and then used a spray bomb to finish the outside. The fan and shroud were treated to several coats of Chassis Black and a gasket kit was installed as the pièce de résistance.
